Why we exist
The Elixirs Lab is a small AI engineering company. We do quantitative research, machine learning, and systems work for clients who need real engineering — not advice on a slide.
We started this because the ratio of consultancy talk to shipped systems was getting out of hand. Most of what we do is unglamorous: read the problem carefully, write code, run it in production, watch what breaks, fix it, write it down.
What we mean by “restraint over flourish”
The brand is deliberate. The site has no animations you didn’t ask for. The mark is a slice and a dot. The voice is sentence case and short sentences. None of this is accidental.
Restraint is a form of respect — for your time, for your bandwidth, for the work itself. We’d rather ship a quiet, working system than a loud, broken one. The brand reflects that.
What this blog is for
Engineering notes. Lessons learned. Project retrospectives. Things that took us longer than they should have, written down so the next person — including future-us — doesn’t repeat the trip.
